Why was the AYLC postponed?

The postponement of the convention is necessary for the subsequent reasons.

  • The extended caretaker period as a result of the current political situation has complicated arrangements and bookings related to holding the Convention;
  • As a result of this situation and uncertainty we have concluded that the short lead time from confirmation of attendance to the convention will result in some cases prohibitive travel costs, reducing the broad cross section of the sector the convention is aiming to bring together.

We have subsequently decided to change the date of the Convention to Friday 26 – Sunday 28 November 2010 with the following schedule.

  • 13th September – Applications Close (extended date)
  • 17th September – Delegates Announced
  • 26th-28th November – Australian Youth Led Convention
